Starting tight end suspended for seasonAugust 09, 2006 Source: Columbus Dispatch Starting tight end Marcel Frost has been suspended for the season for a violation of team rules, a source close to the program said last night on condition of anonymity. The source did not detail what team rule was violated, and coach Jim Tressel would not comment. Frost is a fourth-year junior from South Euclid. Sophomore Rory Nicol likely will step into the starting spot. OSU also has sophomore Brandon Smith and two true freshmen at the position: Andy Miller and Jake Ballard.
Update: Frost has transferred to Jackson St., the same school Eric Haw transferred to.

| Bucks Land PA Lineman Offensive guard Evan Blankenship of Monaca (PA) Center Area has committed to Ohio State. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman notified Jim Tressel today that he intends to wear the scarlet and gray in 2007.
Both Pitt and Temple had offered Blankenship, and Notre Dame and Michigan were in hot pursuit. Blankenship's family has strong Ohio roots and he made it clear last week that Ohio State would be tough for any school to beat. |
